Shailene Woodley is an American actor and activist. Her popularity was boosted by her performance as Alexandra "Alex" King, a teenager suffering from drug addiction, as seen in The Descendants. Apart from the well-respected performance she delivered on The Descendants, Shailene has performed several roles which showed her ability to play tough characters easily. Shailene was able to secure a prominent role early on in her film career. This is in itself an impressive feat. The path she took began with commercials and TV shows and then she shifted into Hollywood movie roles. Her acting credits include numerous awards for her talent including the MTV Movie Awards and People's Choice Awards. She's also been nominated for various other important awards like the BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards. Shailene is an actress for a long time, however she's also a committed environmentalist. In 2010, she co-founded The All it Takes non-profit organization alongside her mother. The Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award was awarded in 2016 during the International Green Environmental Awards' 20th anniversary celebration, to mark the 20th anniversary of being the founder of The All it Takes non-profit organization.
